DUBLIN COMEDY FESTIVAL SET TO BRING A MASSIVE MONTH OF LAUGHS ACROSS DUBLIN

27+ Shows, 13 Venues and Some of Ireland and the UK’s Biggest Comedy Names
Dublin, August 2026 — Dublin is set for a major new comedy takeover this September as the inaugural Dublin Comedy Festival brings more than 27 shows, 13 venues and over 20 comedians to stages across Dublin.
Running throughout September, the festival stretches across Lucan, Clondalkin, Tallaght, Palmerstown, Clonsilla, Swords, Maynooth, Goatstown, Dún Laoghaire, Killiney and Dalkey, creating a month-long celebration of stand-up, live comedy and entertainment.
The festival features an impressive line-up of established Irish favourites, international performers, comedy legends and some of the country's most exciting emerging talent.
Among the headline names are Reginald D. Hunter, Andrew Maxwell, Deirdre O'Kane, David McSavage, Risteard Cooper, Willa White, Eric Lalor, Al Porter, Karen Underwood, Dave Young, Reggie's Farm, Mr. Pussy and Alchemy Improv, alongside a special live performance from Paddy Casey and the festival's opening-night success with Emma Doran, which has already sold out.
The festival also brings some major comedy nights to local venues, including Courtney's of Lucan, Peacock's Bar & Lounge in Swords, The Old Mill in Tallaght, Palmerstown House, Broadway in Clondalkin, The Purty Kitchen, The Queens in Dalkey and The Clonsilla Inn.
One of the festival's key aims is to bring high-quality live entertainment directly into local communities, giving audiences the opportunity to see major comedy names without having to travel into Dublin city centre.
We wanted to create something that would bring comedy to audiences right across Dublin rather than concentrating everything in the city centre. There are fantastic venues and huge audiences for live entertainment all over Dublin, and the response to the festival so far has been incredible.
We've got some of the biggest names in Irish comedy alongside international performers and completely different styles of comedy. Whether you're into stand-up, characters, improvisation or something a little more unpredictable, there's something for everyone.
The festival gets underway in September with Dave Young – 30 Years of Comedy at Courtney's of Lucan and Andrew Maxwell at Peacock's Bar & Lounge in Swords on Friday September 11.
The programme then builds throughout the month, with Risteard Cooper – Out of His Head at The Queens in Dalkey on September 17, Reggie's Farm at The Purty Kitchen on September 19, and a packed run of shows from September 23–27 featuring names including Deirdre O'Kane, Reginald D. Hunter, David McSavage, Karen Underwood, Willa White, Eric Lalor, Al Porter and Alchemy Improv.
The festival concludes its current programme with further headline entertainment in early October, including Paddy Casey Live in Lucan on October 2 and Sharon Shannon at Fitzpatrick Castle Hotel in Killiney on October 3.
With tickets starting from €17, the festival offers a wide range of affordable comedy nights across the city, with several shows already attracting strong demand.
